Anne & Rob Burns as A Reasonable Facsimile presents

For the 2019 Collaborative Summer Library Program theme, "A Universe of Stories" our programs feature Renaissance music and instruments. These shows will be available from the spring of 2019 to the spring of 2020.

All programs feature replica Renaissance instruments and commentary about the instruments and music selections.

A Concert of Fun Old Music and Instruments For Children and Families
at Libraries, Schools and Community Centers

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 moon landing, Anne and Rob Burns, A Reasonable Facsimile, take audiences back even further: over 350 years! Their program “Renaissance Music Is out of This World” introduces the universal appeal of music from the Renaissance. The duo also references early astronomers Copernicus and Galileo and fictionalized trips to the moon from the 1600s by authors Godwin and De Bergerac. This program ties into the 2019 Summer Reading Program theme, “A Universe of Stories.”

These costumed performers bring history alive with instruments from the Renaissance: shawms, drums, crumhorns, bagpipes, recorders, lutes and more. Anne and Rob incorporate humor and audience participation to introduce young audiences to earlier music. Anne and Rob play lively, danceable music that the audience can sing and clap along with.
